Aleph - 0.44.0

🚀 Highlights

  • NumPy .npy and .npz files can now be read and written.
  • Aleph editor hovers now show best-effort inferred types for variables and function parameters.

✨ New Features

  • Added NumpyFile support for NumPy .npy and .npz files in Datafiles.
    • .npy files support direct reading and writing of scalars and lists.
    • .npz archives support named datasets, existence checks, dataset listing, and shape, rank, size, and dtype inspection.
    • Supported primitive types include Boolean, integer, real, complex, and string values.
    • Supported data structures include arrays, matrices, sparse matrices, and real and complex tensors.

🛠 Improvements

  • Improved Aleph LSP hover information with inferred types for:
    • Variables initialized with literals.
    • References.
    • Typed parameters.
    • Variables whose types are established by their first assignment.
    • Parameters without an explicit Aleph type appear as any in hover information, reflecting their existing dynamic behavior without introducing new Aleph syntax.
